Gouie

Gouie recently opened in New York. It's a new sushi restaurant that focuses on high-quality, relatively affordable stuff. Gouie is a great place if you want to try raw fish. Their sweeping counter in The Market Line on the LES not only fills a large, sushi-related hole in said market, but you can also get a seven-piece-and-half-roll special. Here all the fish is buttery, the rice is seasoned with just a bit of vinegar, and the roll that accompanies the special comes filled with a crunchy braised gourd that tastes delicious.
